All the players are at the table, but will they bluff at the 2011 G8 Summit? As G8 leaders were going to meet at Deauville (France) for the G8 Summit, in May 2011, Oxfam asked them to fulfill their aid commitments.
Oxfam also asked the World leaders to take seriously the innovative financing options to deliver additional money for fighting poverty and climate change, like a global financial transaction tax on banks (known as "The Robin Hood Tax"), and to improve aid effectiveness, based on what matters to poor people – a demand that we reiterated during the Busan Aid Effectiveness Forum 2011.

The 21st of May, five days before the Deauville G8, around 5500 people demonstrated in Le Havre against it.
The protest was mostly peaceful and joyful, with a few broken windows at the end of it.
